Hudson River Valley Tourism

The Hudson River Valley has an unsurpassed variety of natural, historical and contemporary attractions sure to delight visitors.  Located in southeastern Orange County in Highland Falls, N.Y., just a mile from the West Point Military Academy,  Overlook is a 10-minute drive to the Bear Mountain Bridge and nearby Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties.

Eco-tourism is a key attraction with many miles of public trails, state parks, pristine woods and myriad roadside attractions. Overlook is minutes from Bear Mountain State Park, Harriman State Park and the pristine Seven Lakes Drive.

Few places can boast of a historical tradition like the Hudson River Valley. The Overlook on Hudson B & B, in addition to its provenance as the original Cragston manor of JP Morgan, is located in heart of Revolutionary Era historic sites.

South of Overlook on the Hudson River, you can visit Sleepy Hollow and the Rockefeller Estate. Directly across from Overlook, you will find Boscobel House and Gardens, a testament to New York Federal domestic architecture. North of Overlook is the Walkway Across the Hudson, a converted railroad bridge for pedestrians. The Roosevelt and Vanderbilt estates also grace the grounds north of our location. Then end your day in Hyde Park with an amazing dinner at the Culinary Institute of America. 15 minutes from us in Cornwall is the Storm King Art Center, a 500 acre outdoor sculpture park.

A variety of shopping is available nearby ranging from the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets antiques and art to farmer’s markets featuring fresh local produce, the Hudson River Valley offers the shopper a delightful range of choices.
